Granite Ridge Conference adds Albany
Minnesota’s newest high school activities conference has added a new member. Members of the Granite Ridge Conference have voted unanimously to add Albany High School as a full conference member for the 2012-2013 school year. The Albany School Board confirmed the move Wednesday, July 6.
“Albany was going to be without a conference and they fit well with our membership, both geographically and program-wise,” said Little Falls activities director and conference president Aaron Sinclair. “With the likelihood that Albany would be placed into our conference by the Minnesota State High School League, ours schools chose to voluntarily welcome Albany and work cooperatively for the benefit of all involved.”
The Granite Ridge Conference’s inaugural school year is 2011-2012 with seven schools: Foley, Little Falls, Milaca, Mora, Princeton, St. Cloud Cathedral and Zimmerman High Schools. Albany and Becker High Schools will make join in 2012-2013.
