Obituary: Vivian Lindgren
Vivian was born May 10, 1929 in Williston, ND to MacKinley & Hortense Nelson.
Vivian married Clayton Douglas, “Bud” Lindgren on June 24, 1950 in Minneapolis. They lived in Crystal & New Hope, until moving to Princeton in 1971. They retired to their lake home in Alexandria, MN in 1988 and back to Princeton in 2005. Bud & Vivian spent many winters in Texas and Arizona.
She worked various jobs Rexall Drug, on Douglas Drive in the early days, and her joy was doing crafts for kids at the summer camp near Alexandria. The job she took the most pride in was being a wonderful & loving mother to her 8 children.
Vivian loved being surrounded by family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She always put others needs ahead of hers.
Those who will dearly miss Vivian are her children, Brent (Sandy), Greg (Linda), Jim (Becky), Bonnie (Mike) Zimmer, Dale (Cindy), Diane (Corey) Nelson, Rex (Nancy) and Steve (Lori). Grandchildren: Elliott, Adrian (Nicole), Austin (Shannon) Lindgren, Jason (Ashley) Nelson, Curtis, Brandon, Jacob Lindgren, Amy (Dan) Drentlaw, Sarah Lindgren, Jillian Beth (Josh) Udermann, Christine Goodner, and Hailee Lindgren. Great-grandchildren, Zoe Jade and Ethan Lindgren, Audrey, Emily, Oliver and Sophia Lindgren, and Hannah Goodner. Step-grandchildren: Rachael & Nathan Weidendorf, Jennifer, Ashley, Destiny, Kendra & Kylie. Brothers George and Willie Nelson. Sisters: Florence Hedblad, Carol Nelson & Uta Thompson, and many other relatives, friends and her Loving Elim Home Family.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, parents, brothers Fritz, Charles Nelson & Bob Durbin, sisters, Louise and Beatrice.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 14, 1 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Santiago. There will be a light lunch following.
