PHS students perform at Dorian Festival

Princeton High School students Kelly McClay, Nicole Sorenson, Eric Jaques, Tom Crawford and Isaiah Mayerchak and PHS choral director Mark Potvin attended the Dorian Vocal Festival Jan. 7-9 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

The five students were among 1,400 singers at the festival making up what Potvin said was the largest select choir in the nation.

Participants were nominated by directors, and a selection committee looked at the scores and ratings that the nominees had earned at various vocal contests. Rehearsals began on Jan. 7 and ran up close to the performance time on Jan. 9 when all the student participants sang as one large choir.
