Police Report: week of March 15
The following incidents were reported to the Princeton Police Department between Feb. 27 and March 12. The times printed are when a complaint was received, not necessarily when it occurred. The report was compiled by Jeff Hage.
Monday, Feb. 27
1:30 a.m. Responded to an address in the 2000 block of 100th Avenue and assisted Mille Lacs County with a report of an alarm. Officers located an open door and performed a check of the building.
8:47 a.m. Officer observed a vehicle in the campground area of Riverside Park attempting to hook up to electricity. Officer advised driver that the park is closed for the season.
2:06 p.m. A 19-year-old male was arrested after police received a report of a vehicle break-in in the 1200 block of Pine Lane N. Items valued at $50 were reported stolen.
10:27 p.m. A female at a residence on 16th Avenue North cause a disturbance when she was found in a bathroom cutting herself with sharp objects. Officers mediated the situation.
Tuesday, Feb. 28
8:01 a.m. A burglary was reported in the 1200 block of Oak Lane.
3:02 p.m. A theft was reported from an office in a building in the 1100 block of 4th Ave. N.
4:29 p.m. A threat was reported to be received by means of a Facebook posting. After an investigation, a juvenile was taken into custody.
5:10 p.m. Multiple items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of 16th Street N. A 19-year-old male was arrested in connection with the theft.
Thursday, March 1
7:45 p.m. The owner of a vehicle reported that someone had recently entered her vehicle and looked through items in it. An officer was able to track footprints in the snow, which led to a suspect being located. Suspect was wanted on a felony warrant out of Sherburne County and taken into custody. The suspect was also cited for tampering with a motor vehicle, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of burglary tools and theft.
Saturday, March 3
10:54 a.m. Gary Swenson, 58, was arrested for suspicion of DWI after a report of driving impaired in the 600 block of 1st Street. He submitted to a breath test and registered a .285. He was booked into the county jail and held for court.
Sunday, March 4
8:32 a.m. A forced entry was made at the Coffee Corner, 502 2nd St. S. Two doors sustained damage. Nothing of monetary value was taken.
Monday, March 5
10:32 a.m. Officers investigated a complaint from a person who received a friend request on Facebook from a person whom the complainant had an order for protection filed. Incident was under investigation.
11:12 a.m. Four juveniles removed a fiberglass sprinkler cover at a residence on 16th Avenue.
2:02 p.m. A 22-year-old male was arrested on a Washington County warrant for theft and booked into the Mille Lacs County Jail.
5:51 p.m. A 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were cited for shoplifting at Coborn’s. The pair allegedly concealed several items on themselves before leaving without paying.
7:06 p.m. Responded to a vehicle lockout where an infant was locked inside a vehicle.
9:57 p.m. A 39-year-old male was arrested in the 100 block of 9th Avenue S. on a warrant for criminal damage to property.
Wednesday, March 7
2:20 a.m. Responded to the 700 block of Northland Drive after personnel reported suspicious behavior between two individuals while going through a drive-thru. Suspects located. Complaint unfounded.
5:13 a.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Department with a report of a car fire in the 11000 block of Highway 95. Driver will be cited for driving with no insurance.
3:53 p.m. A 39-year-old male was arrested in the 100 block of 9th Avenue S. after pounding on doors in the neighborhood. Suspect appeared to be intoxicated.
7:52 p.m. A 50-year-old male was arrested for domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
Thursday, March 8
3 p.m. A cell phone was reported stolen at the middle school. Suspect located. School staff handling situation.
Friday, March 9
10:45 a.m. A physical altercation was reported between two males. Incident under investigation.
3:48 p.m. An individual reported that six to eight months ago her mother gave her the drug Xanax and reported the incident to police.
4:44 p.m. Responded to a vehicle rollover on Highway 95 about four miles east of Princeton.
Saturday, March 10
2:08 a.m. Responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of 12th Street N. It was reported that a knife was involved. Officers detained several people in the street. Statements and photographs were taken for consideration of charges.
4:32 a.m. Two brothers were reported to be fighting. A 20-year-old male was arrested for third degree assault, domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
1:21 p.m. A gas drive-off in the amount of $23.05 was reported at Holiday.
10:10 p.m. Two consecutive gas drive-offs were reported at SuperAmerica, one in the amount of $70.01 and the other in the amount of $50.01.
Sunday, March 11
10:01 a.m. A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue N.
1:48 p.m. An accident was reported on Rum River Drive S. and Northland Drive. A driver was putting taco sauce on a taco while driving and struck a second vehicle in the rear. That vehicle then bumped into a third vehicle. The driver of vehicle No. 1 was cited.
10:33 p.m. A 15-year-old male was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after the juvenile’s mother located the items after smelling marijuana coming from a bedroom.
Monday, March 12
1:34 a.m. Lauren Fox, 21, was arrested for suspicion of DWI and open bottle in the 900 block of Highway 95. The vehicle was originally stopped because of a broken windshield, a suspended object and driving side to side in a lane of traffic.
