Three Milaca men have been charged in Mille Lacs County District Court in connection with a September 2011 drug bust in the city of Milaca.
Charles Henry Hanson, 53 of Milaca; Jason Henry Husman, 40 of Milaca; and Calvin Bruce Johnson, 50 of Milaca all appeared in court on Monday, March 19.
Hanson and Husman were charged with one count of fifth degree controlled substance possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson was charged with one count of third degree sale of a controlled substance, one count of fifth degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
If convicted, the men face a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Husman’s bail amounts were set at 30,000 unconditional and RPR with conditions. Hanson’s bail amounts were set at $30,000 unconditional and $10,000 with conditions. Johnson’s bail amounts were set at $100,000 unconditional and $25,000 with conditions. Their cases are being prosecuted by the Mille Lacs county District Attorney’s Office.
The men were originally arrested on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, after agents of the North Central Drug Task Force, the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office and the Milaca Police Department executed a search warrant at 135 6th Ave SE, Milaca, according to Mille Lacs County Sheriff Brent Lindgren.
The North Central Drug Task Force has been in operation since 2005. The Task Force is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers from the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office, Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office, Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department and the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office. This also includes the County Attorney’s Offices of Aitkin, Mille Lacs and Kanabec.
