Joyce Estelle Remus passed away on March 25, 2012, at the age of 72, at Comfort House in McAllen, Texas.
Joyce was born in Princeton on April 14, 1939, to Bill and Ruth Thompson. She grew up on the Odegard Thompson Farm near Long Siding and graduated from Princeton High School in 1957 and attended Minneapolis Business College.
On June 28, 1957, she married Dennis Remus at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca. They were blessed with two children, son Patrick and daughter Andrea. They lived in South Minneapolis and Prior Lake. Joyce worked for First National Bank of Shakopee until her retirement.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. After retirement they moved to Pharr, Texas, where they were residing at the time of her passing. Joyce and Dennis were residents of Tropic Star Retirement Resort. She will be missed by the many friends they made while living there.
She is survived by her husband Dennis of almost 55 years, son Patrick (Denise) of St. Petersburg, Fla., daughter Andrea (Claud) Armstrong of Fort Worth, Texas, and grandson Michael of Dallas, Texas, brother-in-law Allan (Lavon) Remus, sisters-in-law Jan (Merle) Gamm, Marian Kangas, Arlene Arthur, Grace Fox and Lorraine Remus.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Ruth Thompson and brother James.
Memorial services will be held April 28, 2012, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas.
