The Cambridge Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding any suspects involved in an early-morning robbery on April 7 at Chilson Jewelers.
Chilson Jewelers, located at 219 South Main Street in Cambridge, was burglarized during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 7.
Owner Brian Chilson explained he got a call from the store’s alarm company around 4 a.m. He met with officers from the Cambridge Police Department around 4:30 a.m.
The robbers broke through the glass front door. Chilson explained they smashed display cases and took with them a wide variety of items including watches, rings and earrings.
Chilson explained some of the items were recovered by a Cambridge citizen who found a bag in a yard with some of the stolen items, but there’s still a lot missing.
Chilson and his wife Karen, want to thank the citizen for turning in the stolen items and also Star Quality Glass for helping clean the store. The store was closed on Monday, April 9 for clean-up, but re-opened Tuesday, April 10.
Chilson and Karen have owned the store for two years, but Chilson has been with the family-owned business for 21 years.
Sergeant Shawn Machin with the Cambridge Police Departemnent said the matter is currently under investigation with no known suspects.
