Two vehicles rolled, claiming the life of at least one individual. A Princeton man sustained minor injuries in the rollover.

A 50-year-old Princeton man sustained minor injuries in a fatal rollover in St. Michael Thursday.

Brian M. Stichter, 50, of Princeton, was taken to Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton following the rollover on Highway 101 in Wright County. Stanislav Tarasov, 49, Otsego, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol said the accident happened at  3:15 p.m. on Highway 101 and County Road 36 in St. Michael.

According to the State Patrol: A  2004 Ford Taurus driven by Sticher was traveling northbound on Highway 101 in the left lane of the two-lane highway as a 1999 Mercedes ML320 driven by Tarasov merged from the right lane and into the left lane, clipping the rear panel of Stichter’s vehicle. The impact caused both vehicles to roll into a ditch.

Tarasov was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the State Patrol. Stitcher was wearing a seatbelt.
