Joe Walsh, an attorney who works in Milaca and lives in Princeton, filed for office to run against Rep. Sondra Erickson
on May 22, the first day he could file.
“I’m excited to provide the citizens in this district a new choice that will fight for jobs in our local community, tax relief for the middle class, and funding for our school kids,” said Walsh. “I think Minnesota can do better than our current legislature that shut down the government, eliminated the homestead property tax credit, and borrowed from our schools.”
Walsh, the President of the Milaca Area Chamber of Commerce, believes that the leadership in our current legislature has not been focused on jobs in communities outside of the Twin Cities.
Walsh emphasized that education is critical to preparing our children to compete for jobs in the future. He said it would be a priority to pay back the 2.4 billion that was borrowed from K-12 schools last year by the Republican-led legislature and fix the current formula that favors schools in larger cities.
Walsh is an attorney who works in Milaca and lives in Princeton with his wife, Brooke, and his two sons Truman and Keen. He also volunteers as an assistant speech coach at Milaca High School. You can find out more about Joe at WalshforMN.com.
