Betty Ann Steeves-Seebach

Betty Ann Steeves-Seebach, age 87 of Coon Rapids, formerly Princeton. passed away Friday, May 11, 2012.

Betty was born September 27, 1924 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Charles Wilmar and Lotti (Tomlinson).  She was raised in Springvale.  Betty married Chester Steeves and had seven children which they raised in Princeton.  They were married for 50 years.

While raising her family, Betty had many jobs out of the house, including working at the Princeton Dime Store and Fingerhut.  She eventually went to work at Cambridge State Hospital and worked there for 35 years. Betty loved the job of caring for all the residents, even at times bringing them to her home.  Betty was fire marshal for Mille Lacs County for over 25 years.  She retired to take care of her husband, Chester, who died shortly thereafter.  She then signed up at a temporary job placement office and worked another seven years.  Betty enjoyed volunteering in the community.  One of the things she liked best was tutoring school age children math and  volunteering at Cross of Life Community Church.  Betty met and married Richard Seebach and they were together for 10 years.

Betty lived a colorful life.  She enjoyed crosswords and loved reading.  She must have taken out every library book from the Cambridge, Milaca and Princeton libraries.  She took great pride in her appearance; always wanting to look nice by having her hair done, make-up and lots of bright, colorful outfits.  She passed on the values of hard work and perserverance to her seven children which has benefited them all.

Betty is survived by children:  Edward (Barb) Steeves of Zimmerman, Sharon (Herb) Eibenstein of Ham Lake, Dean (Lee) Steeves of Blaine, Barbara (Charles) Crapser of Princeton, Julie (Kieth) Siewert of Renville and Rhonda (Kurt) Johnson of Grey Eagle; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years,  Chester; second husband of 10 years, Richard; daughter Janet Rein; grandson George Rein; two brothers and two sisters.
