Fishing on Little Elk
Unlike many past walleye fishing openers, the opener this year on Saturday was sunny and warm. Reflections of a boat with anglers could be seen on the glass-like surface of Little Elk Lake southwest of Princeton during the morning of the opener. Jacob Hanenburg, standing on shore next to the dam on the lake’s south end, unhooks a small bass he had just caught. Hanenburg threw the bass back but had caught a sunfish earlier that morning that he was keeping.
