Daisie Mary Bleed was born on April 3, 1939 in LaRussell, MO to James and Frances Hill. She was later adopted by John and Inez McKinzie and she grew up in Springfield, MO. She came to know her savior, Jesus, at an early age and walked with Him throughout her life. She married James Bleed on January 3, 1959 and moved to Minnesota. Daisie was a gifted artist and painted pictures for family and friends. She shared her talent at Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church by helping with Bible School crafts and doing chalk drawings. She was a wonderful cook and loved to share meals with family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was always happy to care for them and teach them about Jesus. Daisie loved music and would often be heard singing in the kitchen while she worked.
She will be greatly missed by son, Rick Bleed of Foley; daughter, Karee (Dale) Meyer of Milaca; three grandchildren, Danielle (Jonathan) Ingalls, Derek (fiancée Mary) Meyer, Jesse Bleed; great-grandson, Collin Bleed; three step-grandchildren, Dan (Tanya) Meyer, Don Meyer and Dee Dee (Dave) Conkle; brother, Dennis; sisters, Betty, Joan, Clovia, Beverly and Karen; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2009; her parents and brother, Tony.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14 at 11 a.m. at Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Wes Macy officiating. Interment will follow at Estes Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Casketbearers will include her grandchildren, Derek Meyer, Jesse Bleed, Dan Meyer, Jonathan Ingalls, Don Meyer, Danielle Ingalls and Dee Dee Conkle.
