Dr. Richard Mayerchak, M.D. of Princeton has been appointed as the medical director of Rum River Life Choices Center by the organization’s board of directors.
Mayerchak, who will oversee the limited obstetrical ultrasound program, is a family practice doctor with Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is the chairman of the department at the Princeton hospital.
The two nurses that will be working under Dr. Mayerchak performing the ultrasounds will be Linda Heinrich, R.N., and Lynelle Anderson, L.P.N.
The purpose of the ultrasound program is to confirm an intrauterine pregnancy, detect fetal heartbeat and determine gestational age. It is not to diagnose the health of the baby or presence of fetal abnormalities. The goal is to provide additional information regarding their pregnancies, through the use of “limited ultrasound,” so that clients are able to make an educated, well-informed decision concerning their child.
The Rum River Life Choices Center is a pro-life ministry and is a member of CareNet, a national organization of over 1100 pregnancy centers nation-wide. All services, including ultrasound, are offered free of charge.
