Police report: Week of July 5

Monday, June 25

12:47 a.m. Officers called to the 400 block of 14th Avenue S. where an intoxicated juvenile female was involved in an altercation that involved punching cars in the driveway. She also punched a car in the street. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and consumption of alcohol.

9:31 a.m. A resident in the 400 block of 4th Ave. S. called police after paying a tree trimming service $150 for work to remove branches from the power line in his yard. He found out that the public utility does that work free of charge and then put a stop-payment on the check.

10:36 a.m. A resident of the 1500 block of 16th Street N. made a theft complaint.

11:17 a.m. A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 1100 block of 7th Ave. S.

1:16 p.m. A gas drive-off in the amount of $37.80 was reported at Little Dukes.

1:32 p.m. A 30-year-old female was arrested for shoplifting two bottles of alcohol from Princeton Wine & Spirits. Bottles valued at $17.49 each.

1:56 p.m. A gas drive-off in the amount of $37.80 was reported at Little Dukes. The suspect vehicle was reported stolen out of Isanti.

2:10 p.m. A juvenile located a bag of prescription drugs in a garbage can near the basketball courts in the 1400 block of north Rum River Drive.

4:53 p.m. Responded to a vehicle accident on Rum River Dr. at 3rd Street N. No injuries were reported.

7:49 p.m. A person fell off a horse in the 1400 block of 3rd Street N. and suffered a leg injury. Victim transported to the hospital.

Tuesday, June 26

2:25 a.m. A vehicle was stopped for driving 76 in a 65 mph zone on Highway 169 at Rum River Dr. Suspect, a 28-year-old male, was wanted on a warrant out of Hennepin County.

9:59 a.m. A gas drive-off in the amount of $55.62 was reported at Holiday.

8:06 p.m. Officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of 7th Avenue N. where a complainant thought a house was being vandalized. A male was caught defecating behind a shed at the residence. Subject cleaned up mess before officer arrived. Subject said he was there looking for a house for he and his mother to rent.

Wednesday, June 27

7:42 a.m. A male was cited for theft after writing a dishonored check at the Marathon station. Suspect admitted to police he did not have funds in his account to pay for gas.

10:28 a.m. Individuals were caught on camera writing on a picnic table in Mark Park. Damage estimated at $100.

1 p.m. Complainant in the 900 block of West Branch Street reported that someone poured an unknown substance all over his vehicle.

1:09 p.m. Received a report of a truck with a flat tire on Highway 169 near the ice arena. Complainant said suspect showed signs of intoxication. Officers administered field sobriety tests. Driver failed, recording a .245 on a preliminary breath test. Ronald C. Walz, 68, was arrested and booked into the Mille Lacs County Jail.

6:09 p.m. Officers received a report that a dog was locked in a vehicle at the hospital with the windows rolled up. Officer educated owner on the dangers of heat and sealed cars. Also ordered the owner to get the dog water. Dog drank water and appeared to be fine.

7:36 p.m. A 44-year-old woman was arrested at Coborn’s after going into the store with reuseable grocery bags, filling them with $99 in merchandise and then attempting to leave the store.

9:10 p.m. Officer recovered a stolen vehicle in the 1300 block of 12th Street N.

Thursday, June 28

7:08 a.m. A burglary was reported in the 1100 block of 1st Street. A concrete saw valued at $900 and a saw blade valued at $219 were reported stolen.

10:13 p.m. A 37-year-old female was arrested for shoplifting a lice kit at Coborn’s.
