Sleeping man arrested for drugs in Baldwin
A 46-year-old Princeton man took a mid-morning sleep in his vehicle on a Baldwin Township road and awoke to get a ride to the Sherburne County Jail on drug possession charges.
Sherburne County deputies found Anthony Ross aleep behind the wheel of his Chevrolet S10 pick-up truck at 10:37 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 on 120th Street in Baldwin Township. The vehicle was not running and the keys were not in the ignition, according to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott.
A meth pipe was in the center console of the vehicle, Brott said.
Seized from the vehicle were 1.7 grams of meth and a number of prescription pills suspected to be oxycontin and morphine, Brott said. The pills were not prescribed to Ross, he said.
Ross was arrested for 5th degree possession of a controlled substance — a felony — and booked into the Sherburne County Jail.
Ross’ 1992 Chevrolet S10 Utility Vehicle was seized for forfeiture along with $200 cash found in his possession.
Ross remains in custody pending arraignment.
