Holmes, Sanborn crowned Princeton club champions
The 2012 Princeton Golf Club championships came down to wildly close finishes in both the men’s and women’s divisions when the final tournament was hosted Aug. 25-26.
John Holmes earned the 2012 men’s crown by one stroke when he shot a 69 on day two, ending with a low-gross, two-round total of 145. He barely edged runners-up Pat Brogan (77/69-146) and Dr. David Bue (73/73-146).
Helen Sanborn carded a 92 on day one to finish with a two-day total of 181 to win the 2012 Women’s club championship. Mikayla Brooks was runner-up (90/94-184), and Donna Brooks followed (90/96-185). Mikayla was the low-net champion on day one (68).
PRINCETON FIRE DEPT. SCRAMBLE SEPT. 22
The Princeton Fire Department will host its fund-raising 18-hole scramble at the Princeton GC on Saturday, Sept. 22. The four-person teams will get off with an 11 a.m. shotgun start in men’s, women’s and mixed divisions. A 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster will be the big hole-in-one prize on the toughest par 3 at the club.
