Police Report: Week of Sept. 13

Thursday, Aug. 30

5:38 a.m. Responded to an alarm at 605 Old Highway 18. A window had been left open that triggered the alarm.

7:05 a.m. A bike was found behind a business at 212 Rum River Drive N.

7:39 p.m. Arrested an individual for the Mille Lacs county Sheriff’s Office and transported to jail.

9:18 p.m. Received a report of a semi truck on Highway 95 with a driver throwing beer cans out the window. Complaint was investigated.

Friday, Aug. 31

2:30 p.m. Dominos Pizza reported that a false order had been placed.

10:27 p.m. A vehicle exiting southbound Highway 169 on the Highway 95 ramp failed to stop and hit a vehicle eastbound on Highway 95 on the drivers side door. The vehicle then went back onto the Highway 169 ramp and continued southbound on Highway 169. Sherburne County was contacted to look out for the vehicle.

Saturday, Sept. 1

8:55 a.m. Suspicious paint cans were found in a garbage can at Holiday.

12:37 a.m. A gas drive-off was reported at Little Dukes.

8 p.m. Possible marijuana plants were seized from a residence on 8th Street N. The plants were in the process of being analyzed for the potential filing of charges.

Sunday, Sept. 2

3:55 a.m. An 18-year-old male was found sleeping in the lobby of the AmericInn. The suspect showed signs of intoxication and tested .190 on a preliminary breath test. It was determined that the individual was staying at the hotel. A citation was to be mailed for underage consumption.

4:18 p.m. A iPhone was reported taken from an individual while at work in the 300 block of south Rum River Drive.

Monday, Sept. 3

1:17 a.m. A person was reported to be rummaging through the donation box outside the Used Clothing Center. Suspect gone upon police arrival.

6:29 a.m. A house on 17th Avenue North was egged. Cooking oil and flour were on the driveway and in the yard.

8:54 a.m. A burglary of three garages was reported in the 900 block of West Branch St. Items were taken from the three garages. Incident was under investigation.

9:57 a.m. A television was found demolished in a driveway on 7th Avenue N. The TV had eggs smashed on top of it.

Tuesday, Sept. 4

4:14 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a verbal disturbance in the parking lot of the hospital.

5:27 p.m. Several juvenile males were about to start a fight in Mark Park. The fight centered around the spreading of rumors.

Thursday, Sept. 6

Received a report of a vehicle on Highway 95 driving all over the road. Driver located. Said she was driving a new car and was searching for the cruise control.

5:13 p.m. A 36-year-old female was arrested in the 400 block of 6th Avenue S. for violating a harassment restraining order.

Friday, Sept. 7

8:04 p.m. A resident selling a bike on craigslist believed he was being victimized in a scam. He received a check from overseas for $2,800. His bank told him to contact police.

Saturday, Sept. 8

1:37 a.m. Brian Beltz, 28, was arrested for DWI on Highway 169 at Baxter Road. Charges will also be considered for driving with no insurance, open bottle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and speeding.

8:04 a.m. A person reported being robbed in Rainbow Park.

6:52 p.m. A 25-year-old male was arrested on a number of outstanding warrants. He was driving while revoked and was cited for driving after revocation.

11:42 p.m. Three intoxicated men did damage to a Steven’s catering van after being refused service at the restaurant’s bar. There was body damage to the van. Two 27-year-old males and a 21-year-old male were arrested. Owner will submit a damage estimate.

Sunday, Sept. 9

10:12 p.m. A kitten was reported to be stuck in a storm sewer. Responding officer was able to remove the feral kitten from the sewer. Kitten then ran away.
