Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Santiago for Bernice D. Teigen, age 95, who passed away Tuesday at the Elim Home in Princeton. Rev. Timothy Zenda will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
Bernice was born July 8, 1917 in Greenbush Township, Mille Lacs County to Oscar Nicolai & Johanna (Paulson) Knutson. She married Rolf Teigen on Oct. 14, 1939 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Santiago. Bernice was a homemaker and also worked in food service at the Elim Home and Shirkey’s Café in Princeton. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Bernice enjoyed quilting, handwork, reading, solving puzzles and baking, she was known for her delicious cookies.
Survivors include her daughters and sons, Clarice Kucera of Atlanta, GA, Paul of Atlanta, GA, Carol of Fairfax, VA, and Peter of Clear Lake; sister, Annabelle Tilleson of Minneapolis; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolf in 1984; son, Mark in 1966; brother, Lawrence in 1984; and son-in-law, Gerald Kucera in 1993.
