Paving is slated to begin this week under the overpass and the general intersection of Rum River Drive North and Highway 169 in Princeton.
Mille Lacs County Highway Engineer Bruce Cochran told county commissioners last week that there has been no maintenance done there because it was the state’s position that it was the county’s responsibility, and the county thought it was the state’s responsibility. After a discussion with Mn/DOT, Cochran said, it was determined that it was the county’s responsibility. A contract with Hardrives, Inc. for $49,383 was approved.
The area in question – from west of the northbound ramp to Highway 169 to east of the southbound ramps of 169 – will likely be done this week, Cochran said Monday.
