Rangers stop Tigers in 7AA South team tourney

Princeton girls tennis closed out the team portion of the schedule with a 5-2 loss at No. 2 seed Forest Lake Oct. 8. The Tigers ended a solid season with a 12-8 record, and six girls will represent the squad in this Thursday’s 7AA South Singles and Doubles tourney.

 Forest Lake defeated Chisago Lakes 6-1 Oct. 9 to advance to the Section 7AA final four. Also advancing was top-seed Andover who defeated Andover 5-2 on the 9th. Duluth East and Hibbing were the two 7AA North teams to reach the section team semifinals.

Mayerchak moves in in Singles
Princeton sophomore MaryClaire Mayerchak will play in the Oct. 15-16 7AA Singles tournament in Spring Lake Park after who swept her two matches at the Oct. 11 South Subsection competition at St. Francis. Mayerchak did not give up a game in the two 6-0, 6-0 wins as the No. 3 seed.
 Jenna Doyle and Bri Dorr lost a tough 7-5 third set in their opening round as the No. 5 seeded doubles team from Princeton.
