Princeton (4-4) earned the No. 3 seed for the Section 7AAAA Football playoffs which begin this week. The Tigers will host No. 6 seed Hibbing (1-7) for a 7 p.m. quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Oct. 23. The Bluejackets closed the regular season with three straight losses, including a 39-6 loss to Cloquet on Oct. 17.
A victory Tuesday night would have Princeton traveling to No. 2 seed Cloquet (5-3) for a 2 p.m. semifinal game on Saturday, Oct. 27. In the other half of the brackets, No. 1 seed Hermantown (6-2) awaits the winner between No. 4 North Branch (3-5) and No. 5 Grand Rapids (1-7) for Saturday’s semifinals.
The 7AAAA championship game will be Friday, Nov. 2 (7 p.m.) at the highest surviving seed.
