Tigers roll past Hibbing in playoff opener

Princeton went to the air for three first-quarter touchdowns, then kept rolling to defeat Hibbing 42-8 in the Section 7AAAA quarterfinals Oct. 23. The victory sends the No. 3 seed Tigers to No. 2 Cloquet for the semifinal game 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Travis Chmielewski grabbed three TD passes, including a 21-yarder as the clock expired in the first half for a 35-0 lead at the break. Billy McClay had a 7-yard TD catch in the first quarter, and Austin Feero and Zach Kitzman added scoring runs in the rout.

• In the other 7AAAA quarterfinals, No. 4 North Branch defeated No. 5 Grand Rapids 20-13. The Vikings travel to top-seed Hermantown on Saturday.
