Princeton boys hockey opens with two wins
The Princeton boys hockey offense clicked well in two victories to open the 2012-13 season.
In a Nov. 24 matinee home game with Buffalo, the Tigers racked up a 9-3 win. Junior Tommy Schroepfer (2 goals/2 assists) and senior Dan Voce (2 goals/1 assist) led the offense. Max Mattson made 25 saves for the win.
At North Branch Nov. 29, Princeton recorded an 11-1 non-conference win against its Section 5A partner. Junior Jake Green got the hat trick and added 2 assists to pace the attack. Voce scored 2 more goals, as did A.J. Wesloh. Mattson was called on for just 9 saves.
The Tigers share a 5 p.m./7 p.m. doubleheader at Chisago Lakes with the Princeton girls squad on Monday, Dec. 3. They keep rolling with a Dec. 4 game at St. Francis (7 p.m.).
