Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids for Amanda Joy Roos, age 29, who passed away Sunday at her home. Rev. Ronald Weyrens will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Amanda was born May 11, 1983 in St. Cloud to Arlen & Joyce (Kirchner) Roos. She lived in the Sauk Rapids area most of her life and worked for a short period in medical records at CentraCare Health Plaza. Amanda attended Willmar Technical College, Alexandria Technical College, and St. Cloud Technical College, her ultimate goal was to be a nurse. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she volunteered at Vacation Bible School. Amanda was an independent, caring, loving, trustworthy person who was always concerned about other people. She enjoyed karate, coaching color guard and marching bands, and was very proud of the four degrees she earned, Administrative Assistant, Health Information Technology, Medical Receptionist, and Certified Nursing Assistant. She truly enjoyed spending time and making memories with her nephews, Landon and Lane Marxhausen.
Survivors include her parents, Arlen (Kim) Roos of Sauk Rapids and Joyce Roos of Sauk Rapids; sister, Sarah (Derek) Marxhausen of Milaca; step-brother, Justin (Laura) Hill of Sartell; grandmothers, Martha Kirchner of Sauk Rapids and Helen Roos of Sauk Rapids; nephews, Landon and Lane Marxhausen of Milaca; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Adolph Kirchner and Bartel Roos; and uncle, Daniel Kirchner.
Memorials are preferred. The family will be setting up a scholarship for nursing students in honor of Amanda’s great passion for nursing.
