Coach on leave pending investigation
Princeton High School’s head girls basketball coach Aaron Johnson has been relieved of his coaching duties pending the outcome of a school district investigation.
School District officials confirmed in a prepared statement Wednesday that a classroom teacher and coach was placed on paid administrative leave. District officials did not name the teacher/coach, but stated that leave began November 29 pending the outcome of an investigation due to allegations made against him.
Johnson, a North Elementary School technology education teacher, is also on leave from his teaching duties.
Princeton Police Department officials said Wednesday that there is a pending investigation being conducted within its department. The matter has not been forwarded to the Mille Lacs County District Attorney’s Office as of Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson coached the girls to a 58-42 loss to Cambridge-Isanti in the Tigers season opener at Cambridge on November 27. On November 30 when the girls traveled to Sauk Rapids-Rice, assistant coaches Andrew Fenske and Kate Milbrandt were behind the bench.
Superintendent Rick Lahn said he appointed Fenske and Milbrandt co-head coaches.
