Sentencing in child pornography case
ELK RIVER — On 5/3/12 investigators from the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and the Becker Police department arrested Gregory Shartle, 29, Becker, MN for the possession and distribution of child pornography and booked him into the
Sherburne County Jail.
Through investigation, investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 12000 block of Carole Drive in Becker, MN. During the search, investigators located numerous computers and a internet computer server system owned and used by Shartle. Forensic examination of the computer system revealed numerous photos of child pornography.
The Sherburne County Attorney’s Office prosecuted Gregory Shartle and on 10/19/12, Shartle entered a plea of guilty to 3 counts of dissemination of pornographic work and 2 counts of possession of pornographic work in Sherburne County district Court.
After a pre sentence investigation, on 1/7/13, Gregory Shartle was sentenced to 60 months in prison by the Honorable Judge Hawley in Sherburne County District Court. Following his prison sentence, Gregory Shartle will serve a 5 year conditional release period.
Gregory Shartle will be transferred to the MN Department of Corrections in St. Cloud MN today.
