These children were part of a group of 44 first graders from South Elementary enjoying snowshoeing along a trail at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge last Thursday, during an educational outing there. Leading small groups of the students were volunteers Sue Hix, Ken Brennen, Ron Burley and Wayatt Anderson. Also helping was refuge volunteer coordinator Beth Watson. The volunteers showed the children signs along the trails of animal activity, including animal scat, footprints and more.
