Dorothy Lillian Koppendrayer, age 91, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Elim Care and Rehab Center in Princeton.
Dorothy was born October 1, 1921 in Buffalo, Minn., to John and Tena (Zwartz) Hoffies.
Dorothy married Albert Koppendrayer October 1, 1948, her 27th birthday, at the Pease Church. She worked as a homemaker and was also employed for many years at Fingerhut Companies and later worked at Federal Cartridge, too. Dorothy was a charter member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Princeton. She had a special ability to make friends. Dorothy loved to go help and visit at the Princeton Clothing Center. As a resident of the Elim Home, she loved to volunteer her time to help wherever she could. Dorothy enjoyed putting together puzzles and playing cards in her leisure time.
Survivors include her children Carlene, RaeAnn, Dennis (Linda) and Dale, all of Princeton; grandchildren Tanya (John) and Scott (Amanda); great-grandchildren Natalie and Dominique; great-great-grandson Daniel; sister Sylvia Amundson; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert; parents; sisters Clara and Joyce; and brothers Edward and Richard.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Princeton. Rev. Calvin Friend will officiate. Burial will be in the Pease Cemetery in Pease. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church in Princeton.
