Sherburne man charged with possessing child porn

BIG LAKE — On 06/27/2011, the Big Lake Police Department began an investigation into a case involving the  possession of child pornography. This long term and extensive investigation lead to the seizure of several computers and data storage devices and the execution of multiple search warrants, which resulted in the recovery of a large volume of child pornography. The evidence seized in the investigation included images and videos showing children in nude and sexually suggestive positions, and in some instances, involved in sexual acts.

A criminal complaint was filed on 02/12/2013 in Sherburne County District Court charging Peter Michael Guevara, age 44, with 17 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Mr. Guevara was a resident of the City of Big Lake at the time this investigation was initiated. Each cited count is a felony punishable with up to 5 years of imprisonment and or a $10,000 fine. Guevara is not currently in custody. A first appearance has been scheduled for this case on March 6, 2013, at 8:30 A.M. in Sherburne County District Court.

This investigation was completed with the assistance of the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, the MN-Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
