Ricky Lee Taylor, age 60, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was born February 5, 1953, to Alfred and Dorothy Taylor, in Farmington.
Rick graduated from Princeton High School in 1971. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Linda, with whom he has a son, Nicholas. For 33 years, he worked for Smith System Manufacturing Co. in Princeton, becoming a production control manager, and later Auto Value parts store in Princeton for five years.
Rick was a warm and loving person to whomever he met. He touched many lives with his never-give-up attitude, helpful nature and a love of humor. Rick was the best friend, coworker and relative anyone could ask for, and always there when you needed him, even in these difficult last few years. Rick was active, for many years, in local softball and bowling leagues, making lifelong friends in the process. He enjoyed watching Minnesota sports on television, especially the Gophers and Vikings, as well as NASCAR and Judge Judy. His favorite pastime was conversation, and being with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by brother Peter; brother-in-law Dennis Peterson and niece Jennifer Peterson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda; son Nicholas; siblings Lorene Peterson and Al (Deb) Taylor; sisters-in-law Kathandra Taylor, Ginny Vedders, Nancy (Mark) Brander, Jean Elliott and Barb (Bruce) Hoeft; many family and friends.
