Eugene “Gene” Joseph Ende, age 78 of Princeton, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center,

Minneapolis.

Gene was born on October 3, 1934 in Rogers to Walter and Alice (Whiteford) Ende. He graduated from Buffalo High School.  Gene married Delores (DeRosier) on April 30, 1955; the couple moved to Princeton in 1973.  He worked in construction until his retirement.  In retirement, Gene drove school van for Princeton School District and for the past four years, and drove van for the Day Activity Center (DAC).

 

He was a member of Christ Our Light Catholic Parish, North Campus, Princeton.

 

Gene loved the outdoors, especially ice fishing and camping. He combined his love of camping, family time and driving school bus by converting a school bus into the family camper. Gene also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and feeding the birds and the squirrels. In his spare time, Gene loved watching professional wrestling dating back to the days of the old A.W.A.  Most importantly, he enjoyed time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

 

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 57 years and 11 months, Delores of Princeton; daughters Wanda (Joe) Caballero of Manassas, Va., Brenda (David) Lemke of Estes Park, Colo., Denise (Tom) Anderson of Milaca, Theresa (Dean) Vosberg of Princeton, Pamela Ende of Princeton; grandchildren Natasha (Ian) Caballero-Dieruf, Nina Caballero, Michael (Chelsey) Lemke, Matthew Lemke, Jill Ende, Lisa Anderson, Lori Anderson, Heidi (Jake) Piotrowski, Hailey Vosberg, Nathan Vosberg; great grandchildren Eva, James, Ethan, Ellia, Kayla and Cole.  He is also survived by his siblings, Marlene Anselment of Rogers and Allen (Susie) Ende of Buffalo; and many loving relatives and friends.

 

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alice Ende; brothers, Robert and Dennis Ende; and grandson José Angel Caballero.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish, North Campus, in Princeton; visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. on Saturday at the church. Rev. Kevin Anderson will officiate and burial will be in St. Edward’s Catholic Cemetery, Princeton.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
