The Princeton track & field teams received a preview of the upcoming competition when the Granite Ridge Conference Indoor meet was hosted by Becker April 4.
The Tiger boys placed 4th with 66 points among the nine teams in attendance. Little Falls won the meet with 131 points, followed by Foley (104) and Mora (83).
Chase Lindenfelser took 1st place in the 55-meter hurdles with his 8.67 time. In the same event, Max Mattson was 5th at 8.92. Those two teamed with Nate Hoffer and Cody Schuelke for a 3rd-place finish in the 4×200 relay (1:42.9).
Tanner Palmborg also put up big points by placing 2nd in the 200 (24.5), 3rd in the triple jump (37-03) and 5th in the long jump (18-04).
In the 400, Brian Kunz placed 4th at 57.1 and Tiger teammate Jordan Kittock was 7th at 57.9. They paired with Hoffer and Jaron Mills for a 3rd-place time of 3:56.0 in the 4×400 relay.
Stretching their legs in the 1600, Princeton’s Chase Arens placed 4th (5:03.1) and Ryan Yonak-Cline was 5th (5:03.3).
Additional points in field events came from Matt Wendorff in the shot put (7th, 41-06) and Bailey Carlberg in the pole vault (7th, 9-06).
Tiger girls results
Katie Bialka led the Tiger girls’ charge in the Becker Fieldhouse by winning the 55-meter dash (7.78) and placing 2nd in the 55m hurdles (9.32).
Maddy Wood supplied points by finishing 4th in the 400 (1:06.3) and 7th in the 200 (29.8). Madison Jung added a 6th-place in the 800 (2:47.0).
Jadyn Bonasera and Taylor Laabs paced the field events by scoring a pair of 2nds. Bonasera tossed the shot 34-0, and Laabs cleared 30-09 in the triple jump.
Ashley Urman added a 6th-place leap of 4-04 in the high jump. The Tigers also had two relays place 3rd. The 4×800 of Kaitlin Kittock, Emily Kruschek, Jung and Urman combined for an 11:07.1 time. The 4×100 relay of Megan Gourley, Kendra Bastian, Mariah Albrecht and Hailey Anderson finished in 56.9.
The Princeton girls totaled 68 points to place behind Zimmerman (101.5), Milaca (76), Foley (73), and Becker (71).
