Donna Brooks

Donna L. Brooks, age 67, of Princeton, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Crystal Care Center in Crystal.obit-Brooks,-Donna
Donna was born on August 30, 1945, in Dickinson, N.D., the daughter of Donald and Mildred (Bookie) Gallagher. Donna was raised and grew up in the Stockton/Lodi area of Calif. She met her husband, Delbert Brooks, in Calif. while he was serving in the Navy. Upon his discharge, Del and Donna moved to Minn., settling in the Princeton area in the early 1970s.
When her children were younger, Donna drove school bus to be able enjoy the summers off with her children. They would often travel to Lake of the Woods to enjoy their time off. In the early 1980s, Donna began working in car sales and worked many years for Princeton Auto Center. Donna enjoyed many outside activities, including snowmobiling, fishing, softball and golf. She was a skilled first baseman and a Princeton Golf Club Women’s Champion in 2011. Donna played on the Princeton 5 Star Golf Team and has two holes in one to her credit (Princeton and Milaca). In addition to her own hobbies, Donna was a devoted hockey mom and grandma.
Donna is survived by her children Donald (Sue) Brooks and Michelle (Jerry) Applegate, of Princeton; her grandchildren Mikayla Brooks, Allen Applegate, Mike and Erika Baumann, all from Princeton; her brother Gary Gallagher of Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Mildred Gallagher.
A gathering will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
The family wishes to send a very special thank you to all those who visited Donna while she was in the hospital and nursing home.
