Princeton jumped out to an early lead, but host Milaca rallied for an 8-3 Granite Ridge softball victory Monday, May 6.

Melissa Hensley pitched a complete game for the Tigers, but the defense allowed the Wolves the breaks they needed for the win.

• On April 30, Foley swept a double-bill with Princeton 5-2 and 5-3. In game one, Summer Bachmeyer supplied four hits for the offense and Josalynn Scott added two hits. In game two, Scott ripped a two-run triple for the highlight reel. Adding a pair of hits in that game were Hensley and Erica Schramel.

“Foley has an outstanding shortstop that pretty much robbed us of our damaging hits. She made a diving grab up the middle and robbed Ashley Schramel of a few RBIs,” noted Tiger Coach Mandee Allen. “We out-hit Foley in both games; we’re just struggling with wild pitches and passed balls with runners on third, along with getting a strong overall defensive night.”

The Tigers are 0-5 in GRC games and 0-6 overall heading into this week’s action. On a nasty cold May 2, Little Falls swept a doubleheader 4-1 and 5-1.
