Apple Dapple

Trudi Abraham owns and operates the Sharp Styles Salon in Princeton’s north mall. She formerly operated the business at Crystal Court Apartments in Princeton for two years before moving into Riverside Plaza this past March.
Abraham grew up in Princeton, and she and her husband Jesse have three daughters: Cassidi, 17; Presli, 12; and Jolie, 11; and a son, Mark, 15.

“I always liked playing with hair,” Trudi said about why she got into hair styling, and said there is “never a dull moment” in her job. She has worked in the salon field for 15 years and has observed a big upswing in women coloring their hair. She has also noticed more men have been darkening gray hair. The coloring is also less one-dimensional, meaning incorporating different colors in the form of streaks, strips and patches, she notes.
Trudi’s recipe is a favorite dessert of daughter Jolie.

APPLE DAPPLE
2 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 cup cooking oil
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 cups chopped apples
2 tsp. vanilla
nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the eggs, sugar and oil in bowl. In another bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. Slowly incorporate sifted ingredients into egg mixture. Then add the chopped apples, vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased cake pan and bake 45 minutes. Cool and drizzle with caramel topping.
