Below are summaries of news that occurred during the June 6, 2013 meeting of the Princeton City Council. They were compiled by Joel Stottrup.
The council approved paying a bill of $43,350 from David Linner Architects, Bloomington, for providing architectural, structural engineering, landscape architecture and electrical design services for the city public safety building under construction.
Closing off streets
The council approved the chamber of commerce’s request to have certain street sections closed for the following events:
• Rum River Festival street fair and VFW car show June 15
• downtown block party July 26.
• Chili fest Sept. 28.
• Small business Saturday Nov. 30 to kick off Christmas holiday activities.
The council approved a request from city Public Works Director Bob Gerold to purchase a 2005 F350, 4×4 truck for $14,950, plus new 11’ dump box with fold down sides for $7,500, a hitch for $500, and an LED warning light for $350. When subtracting a utility box in the amount of $950, the total was $22,350.
