SCSO investigates deaths

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the deaths of two individuals following an incident on Friday, June 14.
Sherburne County 911 dispatchers received a call just before 1:30 p.m. from a woman who reported that she had spoken with an acquaintance who had told her he had shot his wife and was threatening to shoot himself.
Officers arrived at the home on the 12300 block of 77th Street in Clear Lake Township and were able to make contact with the subject, Christopher Norrbom, 47, of Clear Lake, by telephone. A standoff ensued, and tactical teams from Sherburne County, Elk River Police, and Anoka County were summoned to the scene. Negotiations broke down with Norrbom but SWAT officers were able to make limited entry into the attached garage where they discovered the body of Janell Norrbom, 47, also of Clear Lake.
Entry into the home was made at 6:41 p.m. and the body of Christopher Norrbom was found inside the residence. Officers from the State Patrol, Becker Police, and St. Cloud Police also assisted the sheriff’s office.
