BLUE HILL TOWNSHIP — A loose dog led Sherburne County authorities to a drug bust on Tuesday, July 23 in Blue Hill Township.
Sherburne County deputies were called to the 14000 block of 284th Ave NW, in Blue Hill Township on a report of a dog running at large. While making a stop at the address in question, deputies smelled drugs and observed drug paraphernalia in the residence, according to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott.
The Sherburne County Drug Task Force (DTF) was called to the residence and a search warrant drafted. While executing a search warrant for the residence and a detached garage, methamphetamine, marijuana and a loaded handgun were seized, Brott said.
Tanya Wagner, 27, of Zimmerman, and Kyle Paine, 30, of Coon Rapids, were arrested for first-degree drug possession and booked into the Sherburne County Jail. Paine was also wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Anoka County, Brott said. Wagner remained in the Sherburne County Jail on July 24. Paine was transferred to the Anoka County Jail where he was being held on two counts of 5th degree drug possession.
