Royce Albert Kettelhodt, age 85 of Princeton, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 with his children by his side. Royce was born on March 26, 1928, in Princeton, the son of William and Elizabeth (Elsner) Kettelhodt. He was united in marriage to Ardis Shelley on August 1, 1970 in Princeton.
Royce worked for the Martinson family for 64 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also loved spending time with his family and going to family outings. Royce was a member of the Moose Lodge and a lifelong resident of Princeton.
Royce is survived by his children, Kenny (Susan) Kettelhodt, Terri Pendergrass, Wendy (Joel) Thompson, all of Zimmerman, and Brian (Patty) Kettelhodt of Princeton; grandchildren Alexandra and Benjamin Kettelhodt, Joshua Pendergrass and Holly Pendergrass-Salk, Erin and Samuel Thompson, Joshua Hammer, Jacob and Joseph Kettelhodt; great-grandchildren Chloe, Charlie and Remy; along with many nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ardis; and brother Harold Kettelhodt.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 29 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Rev. Michael Soppeland will officiate and interment will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton.
