Obituary: Ifeoma Okafor

Ifeoma Pamella “Ify” Okafor, 24 of Princeton, died unaware from injuries due to an auto accident on Thursday, August 15, 2013.
Ify was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Tyler, Texas and Smith County on January 25, 1989 to Patricia Buffington and Danny Okafor. Ify moved to Minnesota on December 24, 1993 when she was nearly four years old. She attended Princeton Schools.
As a teenager she baby sat for Brennen and Austin Godeen. Ify started working as a PCA for North Country on December 13, 2010, taking care of her grandmother. She was a certified care giver. She was also currently employed at Stay N’ Play Childcare since May 2012. On October 10, 2012 she started her third job with Customer Elation in its answering service department, a 24/7 call center. There are medical and non- medical clients. Types of calls range from creating a service ticket for vending machine repair to paging out an on-call neurologist for an active stroke.
Ify was an avid reader, enjoyed a wide genre of both movies and music. She had an uncanny ability to analyze things. She loved researching relative topics. She was fascinated with dinosaurs, anomie and comic book heroes. She was also very technologically minded, with a love for Apple products. Ify loved to cook using new herbs and spices, trying new recipes from different countries and regions of the world. In December 2012 she proudly purchased her first car. Ify was an amazing woman. She was self-made and independently created the world surrounding her. She could carry on a conversation about anything and everything and also listened without passing judgment. She was warm, passionately loved her life, her jobs her daycare children and her friends.
She is survived by her parents Patty and Danny Okafor, grandparents Dale and Vivian Buffington; aunts Rosy Corgard and Cindy (Ron) Monson; uncle Mike Buffington; cousins Amy Corgard Weller, Danny Corgard (Cathy and Ethan), Tina Buffington Engberg (Harold Junior, Calvin and Garrett), Troy Buffington (Matthew, Mckenna and Maxael), Justin Monson, Jill Monson Bratvold (Mike, Avery and Mallory); great aunts and great uncle; more cousins, many friends and her children from the day care: Cooper and Cullen Drews, Kadynce Tonn, Bella and Blake Stueber, Sominic and Carson Strum, Easton and Alyssa Praught, Laney and Lacey Paulson, Riley and Elise Othoudt, Olivia Lundeen, Addison Linden, Connor and Sam Kerfeld, Mikey Atwood, Jaeden Fieldseth, Sonia, Jillian and Haydn Stay.
Ify was preceded in death by her uncle Gabriel (Bob) Okafor and her Grandfather Okafor.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 22 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton with Gary Tonn officiating.  Special music was provided by Tammy Olson. Pallbearers were her uncle Ron, cousins Danny Corgard, Junior Engberg, Mike Bratvold, Ify’s friends Austin Godeen, Josh Maslowsky, Haydn Stay, and Patty’s friend Gregg Wanhala (Roo), honorary pallbearers are cousins Justin Monson and Troy Buffington. Interment followed at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Lilac Lane, in Princeton.
