Sliding into kindergarten

Upcoming kindergartners enjoyed a little taste of attending school the past two weeks in the Community Education “Slide into Kindergarten” program.  The children “attended school” for four hours, every other day, for two weeks, getting used to being at South Elementary and being on a schedule of planned activities and academic curriculum.  The 59 children that attended were split into four groups. Instruction and support was provided by ECFE teacher Tiffany Glaser, kindergarten teacher Cindy Angstman, and ECFE educational assistants Nita Morris and Dawn Smith and special education assistants Laurie Hancer and, Amy Dierks. Slide into Kindergarten is offered each year as part of the Princeton School District’s ECFE programming to help children become acclimated slowly into the kindergarten environment. (Photo provided)
