Kenneth John Shelley, age 72 of Princeton, passed away peacefully at the Milaca Elim Home on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 with his family by his side.
Kenneth was born on May 7, 1941, in Greenbush Township, Mille Lacs County, the son of Albert and Regina (Bertram) Shelley.
Kenny was very outgoing and enjoyed talking with and meeting new people. Kenny enjoyed going on trips and traveling with his family to different places such as Wyoming, Colorado and Las Vegas. He loved listening to old country music and westerns. Kenny was a generous caregiver and took care of his mother for many years. He was a very hard worker, working for Westmen Silo and then for Verti-Flo for many years until he retired. After his retirement he enjoyed working on the family farm. Kenny will always be remembered as a great neighbor and friend.
Kenneth is survived by his siblings, Ronald (Shirley), Larry (Sharon), Kathleen (Jim) Orton, all of Princeton, Helen (Bill) Hanson of Waterloo, Iowa, and Joyce (Dave) Salaz of Douglas, Wy.; special nieces and nephew, Julie Anderson of Princeton, Jody Rick of Blaine and Dale (Tori) Shelley of Princeton; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Shelley and Hazel Shelley; best friend Carolyn Stabene; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim and Dennis; sister Ardis (Royce) Kettelhodt; and nephew Terry Shelley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 21 at God?s Greater Glory Parish-Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Princeton. Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Princeton.
