Learn about water quality and what making and installing a rain barrel has to do with it. Come on out to Prairie Restorations on Thursday, Sept. 12, for a rain barrel workshop that will benefit both the environment and The Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. Get instructions about making and installing rain barrels — and make your own from a used 55-gallon syrup container provided by Viking Coca-Cola! (Containers are white but can be painted as desired.) All supplies, including a conversion kit, will be provided. The cost is $30. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The workshop begins at 7:30. To register, call Elissa at Prairie Restorations, 763-631-9456.
