Tom Vrchota Thomas John Vrchota,

Tom Vrchota Thomas John Vrchota,

Tom Vrchota
Thomas John Vrchota, loving husband and father, passed away in his sleep on September 22, 2013.
Tom was born in Richfield on April 11, 1965, the son of Edward and Verona (Walline) Vrchota. He grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School. After attending some college (and spending some of his early years traveling and seeing the world), Tom took a job with ITT Consumer Financial Corporation where he earned his insurance licenses. Soon after, Tom used those insurance licenses to open his own office for American Family Insurance, which he grew into a successful thriving business in Princeton.
Tom was united in marriage to Jessica Hoehn on May 28, 2003 in Veblen, S.D. Along with their children Taylor (Liz), Austin, Sarah and Will, Tom and Jessie loved spending time at their Little Cottonwood Ranch out in South Dakota and also loved traveling to Mexico on family vacations.
Tom was a devoted family man, bringing the children up in the cowboy background he loved. All of them learned to ride and care for horses. Tom helped coordinate Little Britches Rodeo and the kids participated in this with Sarah, going on to national championship competitions. Tom also loved to hunt and fish and this was always done as a family affair as he taught Jessie and the children how to shoot guns, how to hunt pheasants with the wonderful yellow labs that he raised, and how to hunt deer at his place in Princeton and at the family farm in South Dakota.
Tom had a passion for music, and whenever there was a Vrchota get-together or reunion, you could count on Tom to bring out his guitar and share his gift of song. He used that gift often in church, at Music in the Park, and entertaining the elderly in the nursing homes he visited.
Tom was also devoted to his business, where he took care of the needs of many of his customers, protecting against loss of life, health or other assets.
He always did it in a very personal way, getting to know his customer as a person and knowing what their needs were before ever suggesting a product. His customers understood this about him and loved him for it.
Tom is survived by his wife Jessie; children Will, Sarah, Taylor (Liz) Feero and Austin Feero; father Edward Vrchota; siblings Elizabeth Vrchota, Connie (Tim) Miller, Charles (Cindy) Vrchota, Karen (Ky) Vrchota, James (Tami) Vrchota, Steve (Kelly) Vrchota; sister-in-law Lori Vrchota; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Verona Vrchota and brother Timothy Vrchota.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 27 at New Life Church in Princeton. Interment was in St. Matthews Catholic Cemetery in Veblen, S.D.
In lieu of flowers, cards and memorials can be sent to Jessica Vrchota 6432 80th Ave. Princeton, MN 55371.
