2nd-place finish for Tiger Girls CC at Foley Invite

Placing five runners in the top 12, the Princeton girls cross country squad finished as runners-up to Mora at the Sept. 26 Foley Invitational.

Sam Swedzinski (16:40) and Emily Kruschek (17:05) led the Tigers at the meet. Right behind them were teammates Breanna Schultz (9th, 17:26), Maddy Shafer (10th, 17:28) and Ashley Urman (12th, 17:38) as the Tiger top five finished within a minute of each other. The Mustangs scored 28 points to Princeton’s 40 in the five-team meet.

The Tiger boys varsity was led by Michael Huebsch (18:50) and Nick Langenfeld (18:57) who placed 16th and 17th. Helping the squad place fourth at the meet were Josh Cassiday (18th, 19:21), Nikita Pelletier (24th, 20:14) and Sam Irwin (26th, 21:01). The Mustangs swept the invite with their boys compiling a low score of 23 points.

The Tigers have three more meets to prepare for the Oct. 15 Mississippi 8 Finals hosted by St. Francis on The Ponds Golf Course.
