Mitchell Heyn

Mitchell “Mitch” Allen Heyn, age 60 of Princeton, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at his home.
Mitch was born on October 13, 1953 in Minneapolis, the son of Clifford “Bud” and Shirley (Kirk) Heyn. He was united in marriage to Mary Tou on June 12, 1976 at Spencer Brook Church, immediately following the ceremony he performed on “The Prairie Home Companion Show”.
Mitchs number one love was for his family. He was a very proud and supportive father as well as a devoted husband. Mitch always showed genuine interest in his childrens ventures and was over the moon for his granddaughter, Grace. He always had time for his family and friends and was a friend to many in the community. Mitch was a pioneer of post-secondary education, forgoing his senior year of high school to begin his college career. He was a man of many talents including but not limited to writing, music, dabbling in stained glass, carpentry and cooking. Mitch will be dearly missed by many.
Mitch is survived by his loving wife Mary of Princeton; children Sam Heyn of Minneapolis and Abram (Becky) Heyn of Roseville; mother Shirley Heyn of Princeton; granddaughter Grace Heyn; brothers Skip (Shirley) Heyn of Washington and Matt (Michelle Linhoff) Heyn of Hopkins; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Clifford and brother Larry.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Princeton.
