INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT # 477
The regular meeting of the School Board of District #477 was called to order by Chair Deb Ulm on the 10th day of September 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the District Office Board Room. Members Present: Deb Ulm, Jeremy Miller, Eric Minks, Chuck Nagle, Howard Vaillancourt, Chad Young, and Craig Johnson. Others present: Superintendent Julia Espe, and the Director of Business Services Michelle Czech. Student Council Representative: Gabrielle Foebe. There were no Citizen comments at this meeting.
APPROVE AGENDA Motion by Chad Young and seconded by Jeremy Miller, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed unanimously.
DISCUSS and ACT on PREVIOUS BOARD MEETING MINUTES Motion by Howard Vaillancourt and seconded by Jeremy Miller, to approve the September 10, 2013 Regular School Board meeting minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
CONSENT AGENDA Motion was made by Howard Vaillancourt and seconded by Craig Johnson, to approve the consent agenda items: Gifts, Personnel, Fundraiser, Non-Resident Student Agreements, Field Trips, and Motion passed 6:1. Board member Howard Vaillancourt abstained.
First Readings #613 Graduation Requirements changes were made to reflect MSBA and the MN Statutes. The vote passed unanimously to move the policy to a second reading at the next board meeting.
#908 Data Access Policy for Members of the Public was put on hold.
Kindergarten Report Kindergarten teachers Jeff Beckers and Cindy Brovold provided the board with an overview of the first few days.
Facilities Update Vaughn Dierks from Wold Architect provided the board with updates from the various citizen criteria meetings.
First week of school student enrollments Director of Business Services, Michelle Czech provided the board with the first week of school enrollments.
Upcoming Meetings: The September 24th Board of Education Workshop Session will be a closed session. Topic: Negotiations Strategies.
A Curriculum meeting was set for September 17, 2013, at 5:00pm in the District Board room.
Additions to the Agenda: None
The meeting was adjourned by Chair Ulm at 8:00p.m.
