The Princeton girls swim & dive squad wrapped up the fall sports season by placing seventh at last weekend’s Section 5A meet hosted at Sauk Rapids.
Montana Lawrence swam to the Tigers’ top placing in the finals when she was sixth in the 500 Freestyle at 5:33.9 after she placed seventh in the 200 Free (2:08.6). Lawrence joined Amanda Johnson, Emma Carlberg and Julia Woodward on the seventh-place Medley Relay (2:05.7).
Megan Gourley paced the Tiger divers by scoring 287.5 points for seventh place. Woodward closed out her Tiger swim career with a 27.5 time in the 50 Free (16th) and a 59.3 mark in the 100 Free (11th).
“Everyone swam and dove very well. Our standout swims came in the 400 Freestyle Relay where all four members dropped significant amounts of time in their 100 Freestyles. That was a very exciting race to watch!” commented Tiger Coach Sarah Schuppenhauer. “I am already looking forward to next year to see what our returning swimmers and divers can do.”
That 400 Free Relay was made up of Emily Cooley, Montana Thompson, Megan Carlberg and Emma Carlberg who teamed for a 4:23.2 time (7th). In the 100 Backstroke, Sophie Hoffer led the Tigers with an 1:10.3 time (7th), and Gabrielle Donais finished at 1:13.5 (13th). Johnson posted the team’s best time in the 100 Breaststroke of 1:19.8 (14th).
