Girls hockey: Rogers 9, Princeton 1

Rogers jumped out to a 8-0 lead on the way to a 9-1 victory over the Tiger girls hockey team Tuesday night at the Princeton Ice Arena.

Rogers scored eight goals in the first two periods — three coming from Paetyn Levis.

Princeton got on the board at the 5:50 mark when Princeton’s Maggie Peterson scored a power play goal with assists going to Alanna Mattson and Eden Betzler.

Rogers scored its ninth goal late in the third period.

Rogers outshot the Tigers 33-21.

Princeton goalie Elizabeth Friend made 25 saves and gave up five goals in 41:28 minutes of play. Kara Schramel, in relief,  made eight saves and gave up four goals in 9:32 minutes.

The 0-2 Tigers face Hibbing/Chisholm (1-1) at 7:15 p.m. Friday at the Princeton Ice Arena.
