Richard Collins

Richard “Rich” Louis Collins, age 78 of Princeton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 in Princeton.
Richard was born Nov. 13, 1934 in Cedar to Irving and Anna Collins.
Richard was a self-employed electrician and handyman with a caring nature. He helped a lot of people and would do anything for anyone. He was an avid race fan, traveling to the tracks in Princeton, Ogilvie, and Sauk Rapids.
Richards grandkids held a special place in his heart; he would often go to Coborns just to purchase candy for the grandkids. He was a great cook and yodeler and could be heard yodeling or whistling while he cooked. Some of his favorites were popcorn balls, chow mein, spaghetti and ribs.
Richard had a charming sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family; he also loved polka, Hank Williams and playing a game of cribbage.
Survivors include his daughters Debra Collins of Cambridge, Cheryl (Randy) Kampa of Cambridge, Janelle (Wayne) Kampa of Isanti, Shannon (Joe) Glenn of Zimmerman, Joni (Chan Lorenzen) Collins of Princeton and Jenna (Travis) Storms of Rice; sons Duane (Pam) Collins of Cedar, Richard (Nancy) Collins of Cedar and Troy (Tanya Schleeter) Collins of St. Cloud. brothers and sisters Doris Anderson, Lyle (Delores) Collins, Virgil (Rita) Collins, Robert Collins, David Collins, Michael (Nancy) Collins and Mark Collins; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by special Friends Ron Vandekamp, Gary Johnson, Dennis Dubois.
A gathering of family and friends was held on Friday, Nov. 15 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton. Interment took place at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton.
